When I used to be a wee lad of 18 years, I might solely go to the local tribal casino to get my blackjack repair in. Unfortunately, on the occasions I went to play, a lot of the tables have been occupied, and seats have been onerous to come back by. This usually led to me ready like a nerd, and even resorting to going to play some video blackjack. One day although, I got here throughout a wierd desk sport referred to as Triple Shot, which nonetheless stands as one of many more unusual blackjack video games that I’ve come throughout.
The Rules
Triple Shot is a mixture of three video games in a single: War, Blackjack, and 6-Card Poker. You begin out by putting three bets on the desk, and the sport will get underway. War is fairly normal. High card wins, and a tie sees you shedding half your guess. You’re then dealt a second card, and you’re taking part in a hand of blackjack. Rules listed below are a bit extra various, with one deck in play, supplier hitting comfortable 17, double out there on any first two playing cards, splits solely on Aces, no re-splits, and getting six playing cards robotically counts as a winner (referred to as a 6-Card Charlie). Controversially, the sport solely pays 6/5 on blackjack.
After the blackjack sport is settled, you’re dealt further playing cards to get you as much as six playing cards. Here, you are taking the six playing cards and put collectively the very best poker hand you possibly can. The lowest paying hand is Queens or Better, with the next outcomes paying as effectively: Two Pair, Three of a Kind, Straight, Flush, Full House, Four of a Kind, Straight Flush, and Royal Flush. After this sequence is paid out, the sport is over and new bets are positioned.
The Edges
According to the Wizard of Odds’ summary on the game, War has a home edge of two.94% for Triple Shot. The blackjack sport sees a home fringe of 1.84%, and the poker sport has a home edge of three.2%. Overall, the sting isn’t that dangerous, particularly contemplating the 6/5 payouts (which is a bummer).
My Take
I actually loved my expertise with Triple Shot when it was being supplied on the on line casino. I ought to be aware that I wasn’t a blackjack participant like I’m in the present day, so I had no idea of correct technique, and the thought of 6/5 wasn’t poison to me. Still, once you managed to hit all three bets, the joys was unbelievable. Also, once you acquired a bum card in War and rebounded to take house wins in blackjack and poker, it was equally enjoyable.
I can’t say that I’d advocate this as a sport for somebody trying to get critical with their blackjack, however it’s a enjoyable little sport that you could kill a while with. Unfortunately, they don’t supply this sport at my native tribal on line casino anymore, and I haven’t seen it round at some other casinos I’ve visited. If you already know of a spot providing it, please let me know within the feedback beneath.
